1936–2026: Le Minor celebrates its 90th anniversary

In 2026, Le Minor will celebrate a major anniversary: 90 years of French textile craftsmanship and design. Founded in 1936 in Pont-l’Abbé, the Breton brand has established itself over the decades as a leader in French artisanal knitwear, combining high standards, the passing down of traditions, and a strong regional connection. This anniversary year is an opportunity not only to look back on its history but also to open new chapters through cultural, artistic, and collaborative projects.

A textile story that began in Brittany, blending tradition and innovation

The history of Le Minor began in 1936 in Pont-l’Abbé, in the heart of the Bigouden region, with an embroidery workshop. Very quickly, the company developed a unique expertise and became the “designer of regional dolls,” helping to preserve and promote traditional Breton costumes through exquisitely crafted miniature pieces.

Over the decades, the company has evolved and transformed. It became a clothing manufacturer catering to the whole family, before gradually specializing in high-end knitwear, which is now produced in Guidel, in the Morbihan department. This evolution illustrates one constant: the commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship while adapting to changing trends and the times.

The “90 Years of Expertise” Exhibition: A Journey Through Time

To celebrate this anniversary, Le Minor is presenting an immersive exhibition titled “90 Years of Craftsmanship.” The exhibition traces the brand’s history from 1936 to the present through iconic pieces and previously unseen archival material.

Visitors can explore antique dolls, traditional embroidery, scarves, and historic knitwear, all of which showcase the brand’s creative richness. The exhibition highlights a deeply human story, rooted in the passing down of skills and the celebration of craftsmanship.

Held at the Guidel factory outlet from April 11 to May 2, this retrospective features several highlights: the creation of anniversary products, as well as the production of a film chronicling the company’s history and values.

90 years and looking toward the future

With 90 years of history, Le Minor reaffirms its role in 2026 as a heritage brand in constant evolution. Through retrospective exhibitions, creative collaborations, and new cultural events, the brand upholds a clear vision: to bring French textile craftsmanship to life while keeping it relevant to the present day.

More than just an anniversary, this year symbolizes a natural transition between memory and the future, between heritage and contemporary creation.
